The types of hearing care professionals you might encounter in seeking help with your hearing loss differ in both their education and their skills.
Hearing experts have demonstrated knowledge of the human auditory and vestibular systems, and they have extensive training in sound reproduction.
From helping you protect your hearing to addressing hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance issues in some cases, only audiologists offer you complete value.

Our goal is to make sure every one of our patients has a fantastic experience with our hearing care, and that each gets the results they really need. Whether it’s something as simple as a hearing consultation or as impactful as a full hearing aid fitting, making our patients happy is what we’re here for. See what they have to say about our practice!
Dr. Erek Winnett, Au.D., owns and operates Alta View Audiology. Dr. Winnett graduated from the University of Utah in 2015 with a Doctorate of Audiology. He specializes in adult hearing diagnostics, amplification, balance, and electrophysiology. His capstone project involved occupational noise exposure and how to set up a successful and safe noise management program. Dr. Winnett’s residency was with the SLC VA Medical Center, where he considered it an honor to have worked daily with our nation’s heroes. He later went on to open a community-based clinic for the VA Medical Center.
Dr. Winnett takes pride in continued growth and excellence, as it is never easy to break the mold and try new things. When not helping those with their hearing, you will find Dr. Winnett with family, working on an old Jeep, or mountain biking down one of Salt Lake City’s local trails.
